The Mandolin Cafe Revisited

I went to The Mandolin Cafe today for some time with a book and coffee. I still really like the place. You can get some pretty decent food, good coffee, cold beer, and listen to some live music depending on the time that you go. The place seems to always be fairly busy when I'm there, but there's usually space to set up a laptop and get some work done if necessary. Plus, they have a good size deck to use if the weather permits (the wi-fi works out there too). There aren't a whole lot of coffee shops in Tacoma to really relax and kick back in that match the atmosphere of the Mandolin. If you ever get chance, check it out, it's a good time.

Yay for exploring coffee shops! Have you made it through the list I posted a few months back yet? :) If you have, I'm sure I have more ... I think I just posted the ones open late ... he he he ....

I've been to some, thanks again. By the way, how are you? Your posts are awesome. Any new ideas for anything down or around downtown? Also, it's handy that there's a drive-thru Starbucks going in on 6th and Sprague. Hopefully it'll liven things up even more there.

Hmm ... new downtown things ... I stopped in at the Mad Hat tea place the other day. Kinda tripped upon it. Odd little place, but worth a stop in for the experience alone ... :)

Oh, and a lunch tip ... if you're ever up for Thai, and can find a friend who's willing to order the same thing, Galanga will split their orders for an extra 50 cents or buck, I don't remember. But then you can get enough to-go food to fill two tummies. And, as my dear friend and fellow Thai-food addict says, then you don't have to stuff yourself so much you want to throw up, but then you don't get the disappointment of re-heated food that's just not the same the next day. Worth the extra pence for sure ...
